Fitting rocket finale

What an end to our short but memorable water rocket adventure. In the two catergories Precision Targeting and Parachute System, out of about 200 teams from different secondary schools and jcs competing in each category, we were

1) Overall 3rd for Parachute system (team)
2) Wei Jun/Hanif's group was 9th for Parachute system (individual)
3) Ben/Si Yi's group was 11th for Precision Targeting (individual) and 3rd for
Parachute System (individual)

We could have won more medals and plaques had Stewart and me had did better on our Precision Targeting and Parachute system. Our PT was way off target, nothing similar to the way it flew the day b4 in the sch field, stable and parabolic. Our PS was pathetic, the parachute dint even open ffs, it always looked like opening when it was in the air, but it never did. This kinda thing u really need luck on ur side lar.

After the competition in NUS high school, the majority of us went to eat Mac near Clementi MRT station. Then Meng Hwee, stewart and me went to play pool near the Mac.
Oh yeah, I just realized I haven touched my holiday hmk yet. Anyway, here are some photos we took in NUS high school,

Drift velocity of water rockets

I haven touch my books for 3 solid days..heading 4 now counting 2molo...but I will be starting to chiong my studies on Fri...

Water rockets has taken up 4 days worth of studying time for me. Is it worth it? My fren asked me this qn. If I had to answer this qn last year, I would have said no. I have realized many things in a year's period. Life is about setting goals and going all out for it, and nothing can stop u. Determination and focus is the crucial key to success. Studies is definitely important but survival of the CCA is at stake. Winning is the only way out.

I still rmb my OGL time in Sargas. Back then, every1 tot we would gonna be bottom of the rankings like the year b4. We proved them wrong by owning campfire, and achieved overall second. Reason for success? We were hungry for the win, we were so focused for our goal.

Saturday is judgement day.

I did it. 64/110 for Physics Paper 3. Overall Physics Grade: E

My mid year exam results is too depressing. My chem and maths score is the lowest I scored in any major exam in MJC. I really need to buck up now. I wont be blogging so frequently now =( I need to study, study, study.

F&C coming up next week. I cant wait =)

To any1 out there reading my blog and did badly for mid years...keep trying..hard work pays off =)

Third Time Tyco?

First of all, here is a breakdown of my Mid year exam results so far...

GP: Overall 48% C6

Chemistry: Overall 48.8% E

Maths: Overall 47.5 % E

Physics: Paper 1 --> 32/60 , Paper 2 ---> 25/90 (owned), Paper 3 ---> ???/110

I jus got back my Maths paper 1 and 2 today at 3.25pm in LT 5. Basically, I was in for a rude shock. I ACTUALLY GOT 50/100 FOR MY PAPER 1(PURE MATHS), which i tot i had utterly screwed up. AND I HAD ACTUALLY GOT 45/100 FOR MY APER 2( Pure Maths + Stats), which i tot i had done a fantastic job, to the extent that i has actually calculated if I eventually passed my Maths, it would be my paper 2 which saved my ass. Welcome to the real world.

Well about my physics, Im in really deep shit now...i need to get 60/110 for my paper 3 to pass my physics overall. If I had to get AO or F for my physics, I have no regrets, bcos i really did not studied hard for physics this time. I deserve it.

Physics haven got back but it doesnt look good so far =( Getting back Maths on Wednesday...paper 1 confirm fail...left a lot of qns blank...its up to paper 2 now to salvage the situation...

I have started a count-down to the A level GP paper...its at the first page of my blog...Im going for GRADE A in any test and exam now in MJ...no more procrastinating...

Physics paper was tough today...some of the MCQ qns were damn sick...I dont even noe wtf the qn talking...DA qn was difficult to comprehend at first...but i understood it at the last minute but no time to do...sianz...but todays' papers were better than yesterday...I was at the lowest point of my life after chem P3 and maths P1...I almost gave up on my entire mid year exams...but a special gal encouraged me to go and study despite doing badly...

CIP at Alzheimers Home

Had a CCA CIP today at New Horizon Centre which actually take cares of Alzheimer patients. We arranged to meet at Toa Payoh MRT station. Went to eat Mac for breakfast. Then went to shop for gifts and stuff b4 proceeding to the Alzheimer home. Basically these patients deserve our sympathy because of their condition. The patients were split into two groups, the early dementia and the moderate dementia group. The moderate dementia group contains elderly patients who have serious dementia.

It was a super tough job interacting with the moderate dementia group, because some would either not respond to u or flare up unnecessarily. For lunch, me,stewart,jonathan and yong sheng went to Koufu. After lunch, there was a volleyballoon game for the early dementia patients and I must say everyone involved in the game enjoyed it =)

Me and stewart sang Jay Chou songs in karaoke for the moderate dementia patients in the other room. Stewart sang 4 songs and I sang 1 song =( I only know that one song from the 4 songs he burned in his CD lolx. Then the early dementia and moderate dementia patients mixed together, and some sang karaoke songs, played poker cards and mahjong.

After the CIP ended, me, siyi, wj, stewart and meng hwee went to Sakae-Sushi to eat dinner. I had baked fish rice lol. After dinner, me,meng hwee and stewart went to watch The Da Vinci Code. Quite an exciting movie with an intriguing plot.

Rocket fever

A number of things happened in the past week =)

First of all, I was at school last Saturday for wj's class CIP, to teach them to launch rockets. I really envy wj's class, they are so united and there are no cliques. Taking 4 subs could have bonded them even more. Basically, mh, stewart, wj and me were there. I must admit the class was enthusiastic in learning how to make the water rockets as well as the launching process. I feel u need to have the passion in this rocket thingy to be able to enjoy it, and I certainly felt the class has this passion, again my admiration for them. The rocket launching mechanism was initially not working, and we had to go buy a new pump from the bicycle shop in Elias Mall.

After wj's class were done with their own rocket shooting, we tried out our parachute mechanism and accuracy launching. I must admit Stewart is a perfectionist which can be seen from him pouring tonnes of water into the rocket, in view that the rocket would fly high and far. One particular incident or rather accident happened when Stewart poured a whole bucket of water into the rocket and he himself released the rocket into air. Lauching an accuracy rocket in a vertical position was always going to be dangerous and this rocket flew out of the school compound, narrowly missing the high fence and landed on the path of an onrushing double-decker. Sad to say the rocket was dismembered and the nozzle became a white lump of mess.

Went to school on Mon, tues and wed to study. Had a rocket CIP again on Thurs in the afternoon which was again wif wj's class. Spent the whole morning watching mtvs on youtube.com in the school library with pg. This CIP's aim was to teach pri school kids on how to make rockets and there was a competition on whose rocket can fly the furthest and the most creative one. I must say the new generation of kids are a hyperactive lot, always looking to argue with u and passing sarcastic remarks. At the end of the day, im sure every1 involved in the CIP felt they had done something to brighten up the kids' life. =)

Yesterday was the rocket training day. Basically morning was super slack, the guys went to buy Mac at Elias Mall. Something funny happened when the guys went out of the side gate like a few mins later but I shall not talk about it here. Basically every1 had a great time making rockets, launching rockets and getting their shoes/sandals dirty in the muddy field. We all learnt something useful today =)

Guitar Ensemble Concert and Soccer Finals

I was at MJC Guitar Ensemble Concert last night. It was simply breath-taking and entertaining. I must admit I got more than what i bargained for, I dont mind paying as much as 10 bucks to watch this concert. Firstly, I arranged to meet with some of my CG-mates, Jacob, Kenneth and their friends. I saw a number of my MJ-mates at the concert, Stewart,Kevin their Hai Sing frens. Basically, the concert was made up of different sections, the main ensemble performing, the junior(J1) ensemble performing, a combination of two vocalists( choir) + one guitarist, a junior rock band,a solo performance by a guy, an alumni performance and the second last performance was by the Guitar Ensemble conductor. The Guitar Ensemble conductor is a very experienced guy who like spent his entire life playing the guitar, the way he plucked the guitar strings was absolutely sublime, it looked so easy for him.

Oh yeah, my 3 frens in Guitar Ensemble, Xuan Yong, Perry and Serene performed last night. All the guitarists were dressed smartly in white executive shirt and red tie. The junior ensemble were however, made to differientiate from the main ensemble by wearing orange shirt and blue pants. I must say the female (J2 + J1) guitarists = hot!!! whahahax...

I like very much the background animation on the screen that was made by the Guitar Ensemble Teacher-In-Charge. I must say the different backgrounds combined excellently with each different performance. Spiritually, I almost felt like I was in another world during the concert. The only sore point last night was that students was not allowed to join in the refreshments during the intermission! I can understand the parents and teachers deserved the refreshments for specially taking time off from their work committments to come for the concert, but totally barring mjcians from eating refreshments is kinda unreasonable.

The finale of the concert was superb! The ensemble performed a piece that was from Richard Clyderman, a famous musician, that song was supposedly Richard Clyderman's debut song that shot him to fame. To conclude, the Guitar Ensemble concert was a success. =)

For the second part of this blog entry, I will talk a bit about Thur's A division soccer final between MJC and VJC. As everyone know, MJC was thrashed 4-2. But apparently, the final score did not relect what happened on the pitch at Jalan Besar Stadium. Basically, for the first half, MJC attacked from the first whistle and we pressured VJC. I tot one mj defender, think his name is Jeremy from arts stream, was phenomenal in the first half. He broke up almost every single VJC attack from his flank. We were 1-0 up at half time. The second half was a comedy show from both sides. Both mj and vj lost possession easily and conceded some silly goals.

The highlight of the second half was definitely the penalty save by mj keeper. The penalty save simply oozed class, the keeper kept his composure and guess correctly the direction of the penalty kick. I guess the mj keeper wanted to make up for his blunder earlier where he was lobbed from outside the penalty soccer. That goal kinda reminded me of the 2002 World Cup, where David Seaman was cheekily lobbed by Ronaldinho from outside the penalty box in the Quarter-Final. David Seaman's blunder played a major factor in propelling Ronaldinho to fame years later wtf. Anyway, when u concede this kinda silly goal, it boosts the opposition's confidence and every1 could see after that goal, many VJ players tried lobbing our goal from outside the penalty box.

However, the referee is also a bastard to say the least. He was fucking inconsistent throughout the match. When our players were felled by blatant late tackles, the referee blindly waved play on. To be fair, our second goal that made it 2-1 should not be allowed to stand. From outside the penalty box, one of the VJ defenders handled the ball,I could see it so clearly. The referee should have awarded a free kick and cautioned that guy,however, play was continued, and mj made it 2-1.

To summarise, we conceded 3 stupid late goals in last 5mins to the jubilation of the VJ supporters. I feel one of the reason why we lost so badly was that we were too complacent even b4 the kick-off. Every1 was talking about Friday being a definite holiday. Every MJ-cian was sure we could win VJ. This could have played on the minds of our soccer players and they switched off towards the second half, which eventually proved costly. Our soccer players should know that against a physical side like VJ, switching off for even a minute would make us pay. Clearly, the VJ players were taller and fitter than mj soccer players. At 3-2 or 4-2, we were nv going to score an equaliser. But kudos to our soccer players for reaching the final, but they deserved better than 4-2.

finally another long weekend is here...and im left with the unenviable task of reflecting on my horrible run of results.

Recent Phy Test ( 5 topics) : F 16/50( originally was AO but my phy cher counted the marks wrongly and i was honest enough to own up eventually)

Recent Chem Test ( Chem bonding+ Electrochem) : F 12.5/40

Recent Maths Test ( Probability + DRV) : F 9/30

firstly i have no idea how i have declined to such a pathetic state of FFF. I can say i deserve to fail these tests because of poor preparation but despite doing these tutorials...i should do better than this kinda standard. I NEED TO BUCK UP!!!

I dont know whats wrong wif me at the moment...and why im unable to produce those grades that im capable of.

I HATE THOSE FUKING MUGGERS IN MY CLASS. Some ppl in my class do tutorials at an obscene rate and I cant stand it!!!

Im aiming to end my F streak starting wif the Phy test that was on last Tue. I haven pass a Physics lecture test this year for fuk sake.

JC life sucks my balls. But now there is no turning back, its sink or swim this time. Hopefully things would be better soon and I would work hard to achieve that =)

Life sux at the moment

Just came back from Tampines BK...was at GV tampines...watched V for Vendetta with my CG mates, Kevin, Zheng xi, Jacob, Perry, Mark. Got some other CG mates as well,Kenneth,Stephen and Kian Lim, but sitting somewhere else in the theatre. Ate at BK with Mark, Jacob and Perry.

I liked the movie pretty much though it wasnt my type of movie. V for Vendetta is about a fictious political world ruled by a dictatorship-like government, a Chancellor. There is a guy called V who himself experienced the brutality of the dictatorship, and wishes to spread his anti-goverment ideas to the people. This guy wears a mask 100% of the time in the movie, cos he was badly scalded in an accident in a freak nuclear lab testing centre. This centre practises injections on real life human beings, some kinda nuclear weapon testing. Anyway, this V guy did not die like others but turned into a person with super powers.

This movie is about how V slowly kills people involved in the diabolic nuclear testing centre that was 20 years ago, and eventually the chancellor(tho he was betrayed). I definitely liked the action sequences in the movie, where V takes down ppl by slashing their throats and blood splashing out. =) In short, V is similar to a modern day Zorro who helps the weak and opposes the strong. In this case, V is helping the ppl to shape the government into a better one, and he oppresses the government. Oh yeah, V blows up buildings as easy as 1,2,3. Hahax, thats about all the spoilers i can give for ppl who haven watch V for Vendetta yet. A very good show, I would recommend it to any1 who wanna catch a weekend movie.

I haven blog for a long time already. Life still sucks. Everything about my life sucks. Block test results sucks. DDD sucks big time. Tutorial also sucks, not enough time to do. CCA life sucks. I was almost late for school today. Here is a part of conversation I had with Derrick, my Sargas OGL fren, at the bus stop.

Derrick (looking at me as I stood beside him at bus stop): Late arhz?
Jiawei: Yep, today confirm late. Its already 7.20am already, I mean 7.10am. If bus dont come in 5mins, sure late liao.
Derrick: Wont be late larx, I got take bus b4 at 7.15am and I wasnt late.
Jiawei: Wahh really arhz?
Derrick: Haha, late ppl knows best.

True enough, I reached MJ bus stop at 7.35am and ran like mad to the assembly plaza. I reached like a few minutes b4 command was given by councillors to stand at attention. Safe!!! Hope Derrick made it =) cos I ps him whahahax.

I kinda miss orientation life as an OGL. No studies, no fucking tutorial chionging and lecture tests to study. Whole day talk crap + socialising ( preferably with chio gals) = OGL life

Maybe being an OGL has changed me. Or its jus the me i have without realizing it.

Whahahax this is the first time this year that I am blogging consecutively for 2 days. Yesterday was a historic night for two reasons. The first reason was the 5 Orientation houses converting into the 5 sports houses. The second reason was Sargas ending the domination of Vega and becoming champions for the first time in their glorious history!!! Muahahaha yeEaAHh!!! The victory was made extra sweet with the 5 Orientation houses disbanding into sports houses, Sargas became the last champion in the orientation house system!!!

Well, first of all kudos to the J1 Sargas OGLs! From what I have seen yesterday at campfire, these guys are a bunch of talented leaders, full of drive and enthusiasm. But ahem, they are no match than their seniors lar {me included =)}, who came almost full force yesterday to give them moral support! The senior J2 OGLs who came to campfire, angeline, suqina, joseph, faris, luqman, su xin, kenneth, long fu, jocelyn, gladys, jia yi, deborah, nicole, vanessa, kevin, audrey, ruzani, ferrino, xue ying, reyneth, ken, yue han, xuan yong (fuck u lol),li ting, wayne. I dont think I missed out anyone, apologies if I did. Muahahahax, the list is scary isnt it? I can bet my head that none of the other 4 houses can boast they have that kind of moral support from their senior OGLs. This is definitely one of the reasons why the J1 sargas ppl shone during campfire, sargas has always been the smallest orientation house till yesterday, but the J1 and J2 Sargas OGLs combination is just too hot!!! We bLoOdY oWnEd!!!

Whahahax, what else can i say about the J1 Sargas peeps? 3rd position b4 release of W&W results and campfire. Number 1 for Wet and Wild. Number 1 for campfire item. Overall champions!!! This is total ownage man!!! I dont know how they fared for Amazing Race Sentosa but winning Wet n Wild and campfire is no mean feat, I can tell u that. By the way in the first orientation this year, Sargas were champions of Sentosa. Haha anyway, I saw quite a few of my OG freshies at campfire, Si hui, rolland, zi bin, bernard, xi jie. A number of them are leaving MJC (sobz) but I wish them well and all the best in their future endeavours!!!

One of another reason why Sargas is so united even tho the OGLs come from different CGs, is because there are no cliques among us and we share a common goal, to do the best that we can. In the senior OGLs, there is a Hai Sing group and a VS group but they are no cliques amazingly, all of us talk to one another like long-time friends or even like CG-mates. I have never seen this kind of thing in my last year CG, the different cliques dont talk to one another and nv bother to say hello when they see each other, despite being CG-mates. The unity among Sargas OGLs and mates alike is legendary. =)

Ahem well, yesterday's campfire was great, every house's item was nice. Sargas was fantastic lar, evidently, the Sargas peeps put a lot of effort into their preparation. Awesome job guys!!! Oh yeah, yesterday Xuan Yong was really lame. I asked him to draw two blue strips on my face but he went on to draw tic-tac toe on my forehead. LoLx damn u...I had a hard time washing off the mess he made on my forehead. To those out there reading my blog, Xuan Yong is a pervert!!! He thinks of sex and sick stuff all day...gals be careful of him!!! roflmao!

After the historic campfire night, a number of senior OGLs (me included) went to eat. White Sands Mac full LoLx! We bought burgers from the pasar malam near TM Mac and went inside TM Mac to eat. We basically had fun talking until near 12am. I took a taxi and reached home about 1am. The taxi fare was 10 bucks wtf lmao!!! Dumb extra midnight charge.

Whahahax, Im certain to get FFF for block test and fail GP as well. When others are mugging on Fri night, Im in school for campfire. rofl! However, Sargas's legendary win gave me some inspiration. In the 1st orientation this year, we were good enough for 1st place, but we got 2nd instead. In the 2nd orientation, we believed in ourselves that we could do it and to exact revenge for missing out 1st place. We knew that we were good enough to beat Vega and the other 3 orientation houses. No one thought Sargas could do it, no one thought we could end Vega's domination. But we did it!!! I realized that despite suffering set backs in ur first try, u work on them, even though no one believed u could do it, eventually u will prove ur critics wrong.

This has been a real fucking year so far for me. After the high of orientation earlier this year, nothing has went right for me. I have now failed two consecutive Physics lecture tests and smashed my all- time record last year for having failed only one lecture test. Missing the first 4 days of school this year has made a nightmare come true. FUCK MJC!!!!!! I constantly find myself having not enough time to do tutorials and study/do tys for tests. I oso bloody screwed up my Physics SPA god damn it fuck.

I really envy those ppl without CCA and other external commitments. They go home bloody early on Wed, sleep, replenish energy and fucking chiong tutorials. Those ppl with CCA are so tired at the end of the day, how to fucking do tutorials when ur so tired? I think MJC focus too much on academic results and neglect students' needs like more rest. I think proper rest is essential for JC students, if u dont have enough rest, how can u focus during tutorials and lectures? Its really a vicious cycle, once u cant keep up with the pace of a subject, ur screwed. Big time.

March Block Test is coming. My morale is damn low at the moment, fuck. My fitness oso suck at the moment, fuck. Im planning to go back to school during the week long break to study. Home is not conducive for studying, I thought of asking some frens to go back to sch and study. Studying in a group is better than alone, cos the syllabus has got to a point where it is impossible to understand everything, there are bound to be some things that u do not know and thats when friends are there.

Well need to go for 2nd Orientation campfire later 2day. A lot of ex Sargas OGLS ask me to go...no choice lar I have to show my face there. Hope Sargas will own the campfire night just like 3 months ago. Haiz, brought back so many happy memories...

The topic says it all !!! Sargas got 2nd in Orientation !!! Exactly one year ago, we were last in the Orientation and no one in his sane mind would bet that we would be in this position one year later. Sargas is undoubtedly the most improved house in the recent year and our current position is the best we have had so far. I must say that its the Sargas freshies who have contributed to the respectable position we are in now. Without these freshies, Sargas is nothing.

To quote my fellow OGL Ino, he said "We achieved everything". In my opinion, we made history in MJC 1st Orientation 2006 and what the Sargas OGLs have done will be remembered as a legend :)

Sargas campfire performance can only be described as electrifying. We were by far the most outstanding House in the Orientation. Sargas's campfire item was dance and almost all the songs in the different dances by the OGs were fast-paced, adrenaline pumping kinda tracks. Throughout the Sargas campfire performace, all the Sargas OGLs become possessed and turned into enthu-freaks. We were like jumping, shouting and dancing to the songs! I jumped up and down until my legs hurt LMAO =) Even the Sargas freshies who have not yet performed were inspired by the OGLs and were equally "high"

I remembered during the Backstreet Boys song "Larger than Life", all the freshies stood in rows, with their arms on each other's shoulders and jumped to the beat, yelling together with the song. I was standing in one row with the freshies and the atmosphere was totally crazy =)

Other houses also stood up during Sargas performance and tried to be as enthu as us, but they failed miserably. The Sargas spirit obviously could not be matched by other houses. We definitely OWNED Zouk with that performance!!! One of my fellow OGL said that the Sargas performance beat the hell out of the pathetic JC1 bash.

Having said so much, I forgot to say the overall positions of the houses. 1st- Vega, 2nd- SARGAS!!! 3rd- Alhena, 4th- Castor, 5th- Regulus. I dont want to sound like a sore loser but every1 at the campfire thought that Sargas would win the Orientation with that kinda performance, but no, Vega won the campfire with a error-strewn dumb skit. In addition, there were many Vega OGTS among the judges for the campfire and naturally they were biased towards Vega. Oh yeah, Wenjian is a fucking pro-Vegan councillor who made his biased stand towards Vega so obvious. He also made a couple of Sargas OGLs damn furious, he actually humiliated two Sargas OGLs in front of all the OGLs about a small matter. Bastrd son of a biatch! Other than these unhappy incidents, I feel that the Orientation was a success in bonding the freshies :)

After the campfire and talk to freshies at the HDB block opposite MJC cos it was raining, majority of the Sargas OGLs went to White Sands Mac and ate supper. We basically talked crap all the way till 12.30am LoLx, no one wanted to go home in a hurry after such a memorable campfire.

I have made many friends during the Orientation, got to know some freshies and fellow OGLs. I feel that the Sargas OGLs have bonded incredibly well given the short span of time and the fact that we have come from different CGs. This goes to say for the freshies as well =)

Oh well, now its back to books, lectures and tutorials. I dont regret skipping lessons for a week =)

3rd Day of Orientation:

I was late. STUPID bus, went to the bus stop at almost the same time as the first 2 days, but the freakin bus screwed up its arrival time.

Mass dance and couple dance is FUN!!! But it depends who u dance with larx, I had no partner today for couple dance, had to pair with a fellow guy OGL. It was a bad experience I wont forget in a hurry. So far my OG is pretty OK, only one or two who dont seem interested in the Orientation. So far i saw only one junior from my sec school -.-

CSI Meridian was boring. Had to stay outside squash court for about 3 hours, cos I had to remain in my station. Vega is enthu but I dont like their OGLs, dam cocky, partly bcos they won the last Orientation. I must admit I was bias at first to give them low points tho they cheered their lungs out...but due to strong persuasion powers from the freshies...i was forced to change and gave them full marks.

Castor is good. Especially Castor 1, got arrowed by Stewart LoLx. Nvm, I will make him pay back during W&W, if he happen to be GIC at any one of the stations my OG go to. Only saw Castor and Vega freshies today at my station.

I'm feeling super sleepy as im typing this entry. Amazing Race Sentosa is 2molo!!! hahaha. Stay tuned =)

Orientation 2006 !!!

I realized there are some fking un-enthu Meridians around me. Take my CCA for example, the comm. and me have set up a CCA forum to allow information to be passed around quickly. Out of about 15 ppl in the CCA, only 8 have signed up in the forum and out of these 8 ppl, there are 4 bastrds who yet to post anything or in that matter, ever visited the forum after they have signed up.

Yesterday's CCA comm. meeting was pathetic, only 2 ppl out of 6 turned up. Oh yeah, the vice-chairperson played out me and wei jun again, failing to turn up even tho she promised to come. Blardy biatch!

Enough of the fking depressing stuff.

Orientation jus started two days ago =) It was admin day, but I must admit i dint find it tat boring to sit thru hours of talks. OGLs must LEAD by example, and pretend to appear interested in the talks even tho it is boring. (:

I must say my house Sargas is united even tho the OGLs dont know each other initially, having come from different classes. But now, we talk to each other like normal classmates and help each other out readily. And Ino is a lamer LoLx. I really hope we get FIRST in the Orientation, and that enthu freshies are posted to us! Its really the freshies who will win it for Sargas rather than the OGLs, cos if u dont wanna participate actively, no one can force u to. =)

How time flies, its already into the first week of December already. Orientation stuff has kept me busy towards the end of Nov but I have been slacking ever since then. Here is a list of homework that I have completed :P

1) Mathematical Induction Tutorial
2) Thermodynamics Tutorial
3) GP holiday assignment
4) Going thru Physics Promo paper + model ans
5) Physics Holiday Assignment

I find that I'm beginning to like Physics and starting to hate Chem, I have looked at the Chem holiday assignment, it seems pretty foreign to me. To add to that was the shocking ease I chiong finish Thermodyanmics tutorial and Physics holiday assignment in less than 5 days, wth. I probably got everything wrong anyway. OK enough of the dumb holiday homework.

I'm now currently addicted to this online game called Runescape and yes, I tot I could quit it, but I couldnt lol. I haven pked in a long, long time. I bless the fellow who will kenna hit by me when I pk later this week. ^-^ I jus wanna kick some ass, dam it. :)

3 more weeks left to Promos and my revision is going OK. This 3 weeks is the make or break period, discipline and focus is absolutely needed. Got back GP compo test today, carded my very FIRST essay pass in MJ, 26/50 ,just in time too. Waited 9 months for this day, it has been a long wait. Physics test today was OK, I enjoyed doing it. Quite hopeful my E jinx over Physics will end when i get back the result.

Haven blogged in a long, long time. Still rmbed my blogspot password fortunately. After dropping FM, I'm still struggling to complete tutorials on time. Haiz 3A levels isnt so slack after all, sorry for any 3Acist discrimination i did on any1. My apologies.

Science Soc got a camp in MJ immediately after Promos!!! I cant wait for Promos to end, but I know there is an extra incentive for me to chiong Promos and do well, cos i get to relax and have fun in the camp. Its worth the wait.

Today ran in the rain for PE. I am damn unfit larx, had rib cramps after running two rounds. I haven felt rib cramps in 2.4km run for a long time???

I planned my study schedule for Promos already. It seems like a uphill task to revise everything in such a short time, whats with Term 4 being so hectic. I need to have discipline during the one week break for my revision. These motivation liners will help me stay focused:

1) Promos are MUCH HARDER than Mid Years
2) Anything less than a B for any subject in the promos is shameful
3) Scoring A for any sub or even getting straight As is not impossible. Its how much u want it, how much effort u put in.
4) Science Soc camp!!! Think of all those hours u can kill in the camp by drowning yourself in bridge!!!Woot!!!

Eventful day

A lot of stuff happened today. Firstly, messed up Physics. Studied for the AQ thingy today but it was postponed to tmr, again. Twice there should be an AQ test but everytime something cropped up, very frustrating, now have to study for it again. Today GP lesson was disrupted because of the VP 'talk' in the hall. I feel it is all too late for the school to crack down on disciplinary now. They should have issued out the warnings way back in the 1st 3 months or at least at the start of the second intake. I feel many students have taken advantage of the freedom given to them in JC. They are indeed 'climbing over the teachers' heads'. But being in MJ during PAE, Irealize that the school doesnt have foresight or the lack of it, the administration is slow to react to incidents and gives almost total freedom to students where many of them have exploited it to their advantage.

Had SCAS voluntary programme after school. I'm in charge of this kid in the Aquatic programme who is rather fast in learning but has attitude problem, he doesnt like to follow instructions. But after careful observation, I realize he is able to relate to sounds made by people (example, pounding the water furiously, using the water noodle to slam the water to make a gigantic loud splash etc) I'm trying to work on this aspect to try to interact with him. I have heard that this kid likes to bully new volunteers, and this may be why he is reluctant to listen to instructions.

After the kids were dismissed, I floated in the pool for a while, with only the sky in my eyes, how relaxing. Coupled with the cool breeze and the lukewarm water, you could have mistaken this for heaven. I suppose the only benefits of this voluntary programme is that one could enjoy the luxury of the pool in the evening. Being able to see MJC from the pool, cos SCAS is just next door, you could only wish MJC had a pool.

Watched Project Superstar yesterday, and the day b4. And I still cant differentiate btw Junyang and Derrick, their faces look very similar. Felt sad when Derrick got knocked out, his fans even cried, and he was too emotional to talk coherently. Dont blame him lar, so painful to exit the competition having come so far. I think Junyang will emerge victorious against Kelvin, and Kelly will be too strong for Xinhui in the finals.

Did 5 items NAPFA re-test today. I really expected myself to flunk everything except Sit & Reach. God wanted to make a mockery out of me tho. My class were assigned to do Shuttle Run first and pull-ups as the last station. I amazingly PASSED all the items except pull ups, and i need to redo the 5 items again sometime later. Felt very tu lan lar, i rather fail all 5 items than to pass 4 and fail pull-ups. Whats the diff btw this two?? Still need to do re test. Next Wed 2.4 km re-test, a bit scared lo.

I read about the encounters of those MJ ppl who went to Cambridge summer programme on this blog http://www.reachcambridge.blogspot.com/ . They are enjoying themselves in a foreign country and encountering new life experiences that are usually once in a lifetime opportunity. Lucky them.

Yup, no more FMaths. Submitted the withdrawal form today. The week long deliberation whether to drop FMaths has come to a conclusion. I just cant cope with 4 A lvls, the amount of energy and time needed is too much for me. Term 3 has now turned into a horrible nightmare for me. Got back chem result today, outright F, its not even near AO. First time i flunked chem in MJC, and it actually came right after MYE, which i got B. The drop from B to F is unbelievable, scary even. Nothing has gone right for me after MYE. Flunked every single lecture test in Term 3 to date. The amount of work i put in doesnt translate to grades.

Dropping FM has to be the best way out. I can spend some time reflecting on wtf is happening to me this Term. I have been undoing all the hard work I spent for MYE. Lecture tests are pulling down my MYE grades. I guess it will feel a bit weird tml not attending FM lectures. 7 months of FMaths lectures are hard to forget. Still remember the first FMaths lecture I went in MJC, back to the days of PAE S101, when I dint know any1 in my class except Ben.

Now with some free periods in between lessons, I can do some serious self study and TYS. Tomorrow will be the start of a better day.

Bad streak...will it ever end?

Haven blogged like one week, been too busy with school work. A lot of stuff happened last week, i'm currently on a bad streak, been flunking tests consecutively. Really bad fails. Woke up with a sore throat, flu and slight fever in the morning. Rushed to school for FM Curve Sketching test, did horribly. Expected to screw up Chem SPA damn badly. A miracle happened! I dint screw up, or at least I tot i dint screw up. Vomited everything I memorised. Did everything safely. At the moment I have a 100% success rate for Chem SPA, quite a commendable achievement considering i'm real bad at pracs.

I took the FM withdrawal form last week, still considering whether to drop FM. I finally understand the Linear Algebra tutorial 1 le!!! That is just a small step to mastering the whole chapter of Linear Algebra, but I'm confident with hard work and perseverance, I believe I can overcome all obstacles. Even if I'm forced to drop FM some day, I can say that I tried my best to understand the FM topics, tho my effort was in vain.

I need to go for CCA workplan seminar with 2 of my comm members on Wed while CCA goes on. Feels a bit weird without the rest of my comm around with me. Went for medical checkup today, cos of some spinal problem that needs to go for checkups on a regular basis. Got discharged today, no need to go back for annoying checkups anymore. Hmmmm, tonight need to do a lot of homework, GP AQ qn and Integration tutorial. OMFG, i haven started doing Integration. I'm such a slacker +_+

Tiring week

Received my result slip for MYE, pathetic. Demoralizing. Worst results I have ever gotten in my life.

This week has been especially tiring. Going at home at 6pm everyday is no joke.Towards 9pm, i would be dozing off on my study table and end up going to school next morning obscenely early to chiong tutorials. I'm beginning to get tired of this cycle, I'm seriously considering whether to drop FMaths. I'm starting to crack under the sheer load of Maths C lectures and tutorials in one day. Apologies to anyone I offended in school last week cos I was really fed up. CCA is the only time where I can destress. Home is torturing...tutorials lies in wait. Now I cant even laugh when my fren says a lame joke.

I have signed up to be a volunteer at SCAS, a centre that attends to the needs of kids diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Its a committment actually, I am staying for two terms, till the end of the year, with some of my classmates. I guess this is the only time other than CCA where I can get away from studies and do something really meaningful.

I'm planning to take Chem 'S' paper but I know i need to do really well in all my 4A lvls (if i continue with 4 A lvls) and score A for Chem promos to just be eligible for Chem 'S' paper. After all, u cant be flunking FMaths and taking 'S' papers right? It seems like an impossible dream, but at least I know I have a goal in mind. Its always good to have long-term goal, so along the way, u know something spurs u on, keeps u going.

Work, work and more work

These few weeks have been crazy, so much homework piling on top of one another. Not enough time to do at night cos I am just simply too exhausted at the end of the day. No entertainment except for my MP3, how sad.

SPAs coming up next week, the mock and the real ones. Must do really well in pracs cos they are the easiest to score in. I feel PW is irrelevant to JC, considering the kind of schedule in JC. So many things to rush, so little time to do. For my PW group, progress has been OK so far, but lagging like shit behind other classes. Some classes' PW groups have completed their analysis of survey results, wtf. Studies chiong, PW also chiong, I got nothing to say.

F & C is tough!!! NAPFA re-test is only 5 weeks away, scary. I must pass the re-test! I cant stand people playing games while I do fitness conditioning. I suppose I have no one to blame but myself. I just realized recently that I have got weights at home, the kind found in gyms. I regret not training weights b4 the NAPFA test.

Went for CCA workplan seminar on Sat. Enjoyed it very much cos half the time I was being lame during discussions with my CCA comm. It was like any other CCA comm meeting I had as usual, tho this time it was at LT. From this seminar, I feel that work planning could also be applied to an individual, not just CCA. SWOT fits an individual as well, the Strengths, Weaknesses of a person, the Opportunities a person takes on and the Threats or temptations a person faces. I felt i benefited individually as well, how to manage one's life effectively.

Time is running out, I have FMaths iterative test on Tues during lecture and I haven touch that bloody tutorial. That brings me to FM lecture tests, haiz. I dont think I will complete the paper next Tues cos according to my current streak, I have yet to complete a maths lecture test on time yet. Gtg, dont want to flunk it (touch wood)...

New Aspirations

Finally got over my MYE results hangover. Its bad, my worst nightmare was realized, O for FM. No use thinking about MYE results, life has to move on. Its Term 3 now, a new term, new hopes, new aspirations. Been working late nights the past week till now, tutorials as usual and PW stuff. I am rather impressed that despite the busy schedule of JC life, I see many MJcians still playing cards during breaks. They must be really good in time management to juggle between tutorials and cards.

I feel I have yet to reach my full potential in JC, there are so many aspects of me that I need to improve on. The mistakes I made that caused my MYE to flop. I need to improve on my work speed, I do tutorials so slowly!!! As a result i dint had time to complete some qns in MYE. I also need to plan my time carefully each day, I cant be spending too much time on one subject like i did for Chem in MYE. It will be an uphill task to find the perfect combination juggling between subjects but I'm very confident that I will find the magic formula.

I vow that there will be one lecture test in MJ that i gonna see my name first on the top scorers list. I gonna do so well for all my lecture tests that my name will never be out of the first page of results. This will need some action not just plain talking.

Pretty much like MJ life so far, been here for more than half a year. I feel its a nice school where both work and play are stressed. When u play, u play hard. When u work, u work hard. Yeah thats basically what I feel abt MJ from Day 1.

Heart-break

I'm scared. Very scared, serious. Scared that I will fail the majority of the papers. Its time to face the music...

Knew my results for Chem and GP Paper 2. I shant tell how much i got for chem cos all my good frens know my grade already and also not to make people who dint do as well unhappy. I wasnt surprised at all at my compre score, I was drilled in compre for the whole of Sec 4. Week in week out compre test..every1 did until sian.

Some of my friends have got back their chem papers. I feel very sad for those who dint do well, I could tell they have studied hard for chem. How could they deserve this? God isnt fair to them. Life isnt fair. At this pt in time, I only wish for them to pick themselves, carry on with their life, be optimistic. Mid Years doesnt decide whether u should drop any subject, its the Promos that is the all important exam. Mid Years is just a gauge to see how ready ur for Promos.

I'm counting down to my FMaths doom. Unlikely to escape AO. Cold hard reality it is. No mood to do anything now , really. Had Chinese oral today, the real one. Stammered a bit today, but overall OK lar, dint stop or pause for long in the conversation topic, just shot whatever I can think of.

Been doing tutorials non-stop after since MYE ended, trying to numb my thoughts and pain about FMaths and Phy paper. I found out that tutorials have the ability to make u oblivious to ur surroundings, u become a slave to it sort of, ur emotions become redundant, basically its slows down a probable nervous breakdown for me.

As i said in my previous blog entry, even if I get AO or F for any subject, I will still proudly say that I tried my best, I really did. I almost cried on the way home after Chinese oral, been thinking about my frens who failed chem, how devastated they are right now. Believe me, its a long road to recovery, it took me half a year to recover from a disastrous PAE Chem Lecture test. Survivors are people who are mentally strong, who BELIEVE in the IMPOSSIBLE.

Yay!!! End of exams, yes pamela u beat me to that sentence ^^. Just came back from S103 class outing at Siloso Beach at Sentosa, very exhausted tho. I had left early around 5pm cos my mum had cooked dinner. Enjoyed myself today at the sunny beach but it wasnt as fun as with my sec 4 classmates two weeks ago. I guessed I had already experienced the atmosphere at the beach and now it doesnt seem as exciting as b4. Reached the beach quite early cos we had departed for Sentosa immediately after CLAO LC.

List of activities I did at the beach today:
1)Ice Man (Catching in other words)
2)Some lame OG-like activities (U know the games u play when u sit in a cicle?)
3)Water polo
4)Soccer
5)Playing bridge
6)Walking 3/4 of Siloso Beach (to buy some stuff)

Rediscovered my bridge skills after 3 months absence in the bridge fraternity. Won quite a number of times in bridge today ^^ Yeah, almost the whole class went, amazingly. Tot there will be quite a number of a ppl who wont show their faces but they turned up. Today I made sure there wont be a repeat of the sunburn episode two weeks ago. I used two times the amount of sun block a person will use and wore a cap when i was out of the water. I also stayed in the shade but I was out of the water. As a result, I dint get sun burnt today!!! Haha. Not sure about my classmates tho, have to ask them on later on msn. It was a good bonding experience today amd I look forward to the next class outing but it will be some time. I dont think there will be time to relax in Term 3. Term 3 will be all hell unleashed.

Now, my analysis of MYE. CLAO was relatively OK. Ideas flowed rapidly in compo. Completed on time for CLAO paper 2, but a bit rushed. Can hit a minimum grade of B3 lar. FMaths? Eeeek, hopefully i can get a D but it remains to be seen. I had given my best shot for all the exams and I believe even if i get AO for any paper, I can proudly say that i tried. Chemistry wasnt difficult, had a slow start in MCQ cos memories of the 1st Chem Trial MCQ started to haunt me when i had ran into difficulties in the first few qns. I will settle for B or C. Fingers crossed for A. I found Maths C paper not so challenging but ran out of time for the last few qns. A is not impossible for Maths C, I will take B otherwise. Screwed up Physics damn it, MCQ was a disaster, ticum like 4 qns? Section B initially was OK, but found it tough towards the end. Due to time constraint, I had to chiong Section C in 30mins, dint complete some parts of the 2 qns. I will be praying for C or D.

Enough of MYE, when I tot exams were over, CCA committment is now my utmost priority. Science Week is coming up, tho the programmes are roughly planned, I have to meet up with my Science Soc comm members like almost every day next week. I'm having problems with the CCA website, I cant create my own background for the website, there isnt an option for it. Its so dumb, I am forced to use Freewebs' templates for the webby. Oh yeah, need to hand in FMaths file next week and study FMaths iterative methods on IVLE for the test in two weeks' time. Its now back to tutorials and studying again, i'm itching to do some tutorials hehez...FMaths Tutorials any1?

This will probably be my last blog entry for the month of June since there will be nothing to blog during the MYE period. This week has been really hectic, been doing TYS and reading lecture notes at a frentic speed. My efforts has been starting to bear fruit, i got A for the last chem trial yesterday!!! 70/100 nia...call it tyco, watever. I always knew I could do it, now all I need is to carry this momentum (not mass times velocity in this case :X) over to the MYE period. Chem MCQ was a major improvement from last chem trial's shameful performance, a pathetic 7/30. Now my all-time record for Chem MCQ is 22/30 which I intend to break it next week, I am very confident of it.

I have been feeling very lethargic after enduring 2 and a half hours of chem trial. I dont know why but I feel very tired at night starting from 8pm. Normally at this time, I still feel extrememly energetic even after doing 3 consecutive MCQ TYS topics. I guess i'm not used to the physical conditioning of MJ exams. However I hope I will adapt to the gruelling week long examination period next week.

Went for CCA meeting today. The meeting was productive, as usual. The committee discussed and wrote a proposal for the upcoming Science Week after MYE. We went to eat at Century Square, my second time there and first time with friends. Food = Insanely Ex. After lunch, we went to Tampines Library to finish typing the proposal. Felt a sense of deja vu upon entering the library, cos the first and last time I was there was like 11 years ago, when i was like 6 yrs old. The place has indeed changed a lot, not surprisingly.

So long for now...all e best for every1 taking exams next week!!! Dont give up...have faith in urself...hard work pays off...

sec 4 class outing

Yesterday was a complete off day for me in MYE revision. It was my sec 4 class outing ----> 4 Humility DAY!!! The venue was the beach at Sentosa. The peeps staying in Hougang gathered at Hougang MRT station at 10am to take the train to HarbourFront. Surprisingly, many 4Hum ppl turned up, i tot many of them would be staying at home mugging. Luckily I decided to go for the outing or I would have been 'crucified' on msn the next day. Honestly, I have never been to Sentosa in my life, I had a deprived childhood by the way.

It dint take long to reach Sentosa, and soon I found myself on the sunny beach. It wasnt crowded but we took a while to choose a suitable spot to place our bags. I have never been to a beach in my life and my long lost childhood instincts kicked in the moment I laid hands on the sand. Pretty soon, I was building sandcastles, making sandballs (needed a lot of skill to make sia) and throwing the sandballs into the water. Standing with the feet in the sandbed under the water is an unforgettable experience, u cant imagine the cool water coming in and brushing against ur feet with the sun beating on u. It felt like sauna, haha. I laid on the beach and sun tanned for like half an hour b4 the guys and the girls went into the water to play ball. We played monkey and I suay suay became the monkey a while after the game started. My butter fingers let me down. Needless to say, I was bullied and i couldnt get the ball even after like 20mins? The game was soon abandoned fortunately.

The class bought a volleyball from the shop and we played on the volleyball court. Initially, I was walking barefooted on the sand and it felt like standing on charcoals. The pain became unbearable after a while and i hobbled to grab my shoes on. Volleyball was fun, I kept pumping the ball out of the court tho, there was once I served the ball so far that it nearly went into the water.

My friend brought a kite to the beach, of all things to bring. It was tough to fly the kite alone as he soon found out. My friend was very pro though, he managed to fly the kite until it was very high up the sky. I tried flying the kite but it was after a while b4 I succeeded with some assistance. Believe me, the euphoria of flying a kite and seeing it touching the clouds will forever be part of my memories. Unfortunately, the wind got too strong and the kite got tangled in the trees. My friend and I was unable to get it down sadly. My kite flying experience was thus ended by the merciless wind.

Some of my friends went to cycle around the beach but i chose to play soccer with the guys. Playing soccer on the sand is a demanding task as the ball keeps bobbling on the sand. We played last-man soccer and I was the last man for my team. I had a horrible start, letting in 3 goals in 20mins. Two scored were 1 on 1 situations and the striker had a 99% probablity of scoring and it wasnt totally my fault actually. Amazingly, my team fought from 3-1 down to become 3-3 thanks to my defending in the later part of the game. We had a half time break cos the sand was getting too hot to handle.

One of the 4Hum girls now in CJC brought some of her classmates also formerly from Holy. All of them are girls and a number of them really chio sia. During the half time break, me, the guys and the CJ girls played Captain's ball. There were guys and girls in a team, and MY team WON, partly because i was the captain :X Oh yeah, one of the guys volunteered to be buried in the sand, minus the head of course. It was really funny seeing him covered in sand, like a Egyptian mummy. Unexpectedly , my friend's kite on the tree top dropped down from the tree, probably from a strong gust of wind.

The soccer game resumed after a long break, and my team scored 3 goals in the second half, winning on a 6-4 aggregate. Dint really expect to put up such a good performance in the soccer game after a long absence from street soccer fraternity. Sian it was soon 5pm and a lot of ppl wanted to go off. The majority went to eat together at HarbourFront but I had to go home early cos my mum was cooking. Reflecting on yesterday's outing, I realized all my former classmates haven changed much, still the same old personality. Really enjoyed the whole outing, haven had so much fun in my life. 4 Humility 04 rulez!!!

However, I was SUN-BURNT!!! I dint really know the extent of it until i reached home. My hands, arms, neck and face are all RED!!! My back also, cos i took off my shirt to play Captain's ball. Arrrgghhxx, its like so painful, even now my face feels scorching hot and there is like fire brushing against my limbs. I forgot to put sun block, damn it. I dont know whether I will be normal when school reopens cos the extent of my sun burnt is really bad. ):

Worst chem test of my life

Went to MJ today for Chem timed trial. Really regretted going cos it really demoralized me. I really did a lot of preparation for this timed trial. I studied ALL the lecture notes...read ALL the topics in the Redspot TYS that were to be tested and got 7/30 for MCQ....barely passed Section B structured...and got 9/30 for Section C free response qns. I really feel like giving up on my MYE revision but i know giving up is not an option now in JC, its either u try and somehow get tyco or die trying. But at least i got something out of this timed trial...i have learnt how to spread my time out doing qns and some other skills Dr Rahman told the lot of us who sat for the chem trial. I need to do some analysis of the qns that i got wrong in the timed trial. There is a chem trial next week for Mass spec and Organic chem amd i'm aiming to do well in it.

After the nightmare in LT1, went to eat at White Sands with Xiang ge ge, Quan ge ge and 3 other girls whom i'm not familar with. I must admit I dont really know White Sands well, been there for like less than 5 times? Visited the Popular Bookstore and the Library there...saw how big they are...very spacious. Really like White Sands a lot, I feel very comfortable when i'm there. Its really relaxing and no source of noise pollution from nearby traffic. The food in Pasir Ris is very good ..been to West Plaza on Tues wif my S103 mates and ate chicken rice and roti prata...heavenly i must say.

Yippie...i finally got all the theme songs in Hai Tun Wan Lian Ren (Dolphin Bay)!!! Wooohooo...got the last song finally ...its a japanese song 'White Snow' by Kokia. My cousin sent it to me, haha. I got the opening theme song 'I Dont Want to Know' as well as 'Journey' and 'Yi Shi De Mei Hao' Nice i really like that show..very touching ...it ended like two weeks ago. Hmmm now my MP3 has all my fav songs to the max capacity...muahahaha ^-^

Stressed out

Half the holidays have passed and I am nowhere near my target set for my MYE revision. The qns from Phy and Chem TYS are tough, naturally. They are really harder than those in lecture notes, tutorials and lecture tests combined. I think its impossible to pass MYE just by studying the qns from tutorials and lecture notes. The difference in standard is there for every1 to see.

Arrgghhxx...tmr got Vectors tutorial at 10am. WTF. Another disruption to my revision schedule. For the first time in my life, I am not looking forward to a maths tutorial. I have practically forgotten all the Vector stuff i have learnt, the cartesian , parametric eqn of plane etc. I dont want to fail my MYE sia but i have a bad feeling i will.

Hmmm...my sec 4 class is organizing a class outing next Sunday 19/6 at Sentosa. Not sure whether i want to go. I cant really relax like one week b4 D-Day or D-Week right? I think if I finally make up my mind to go, I will probably bring all my TYS and tutorials there to revise. See whether got time to play lorx.

My blog entry today looks pretty short cos i cant write much when i'm stressed out. I need to chiong all my Vectors tutorials by tonight!!! Ganbatte!!!

Slacky Day

Caught a flu today...arrhhxx...very irritating. Came to Mugger JC at 9am to mug, cos my home isnt conducive for studying, no chio bu at home. Actually there was a Science Soc committee meeting at 12pm. My friend and chairman of Science Soc, Wei Jun, came early around 10am. He brought a laptop to school sia for the meeting. I connected my MP3 to his laptop and we listened to music at the study benches outside G.O. Never experienced anything high-tech as that b4 haha.

The meeting today was extremely fruitful. We thrashed out everything that we need to discuss, namely the upcoming Science Week after MYE and the Science camp. We came up with a lot of exciting events for Science Week but the feasibility of some of the science demonstrations remains to be seen. Have like a month and a half more to the Science Week...hmmm hope we can really come up with a series of creative programmes for MJcians. We discussed about the Science Soc shirt as well...the J2s came up with the idea of the CCA shirt earlier this year but dint really proceed on. Come to think of it, the J2s threw all their unfinished work at us...they dint really like hand over this duties or tell us how to carry on after they had stepped down.

We also discussed about the possibility of a Science Soc camp...only for Science Soc members of course. We raised ideas about a Stargazing camp at Sentosa or even in MJC in December. I will really look forward to the prospect of such a camp, it sounds really exciting cos its organised by the Science Soc committee and I will be part of the organising group. I think Science Soc is moving in the positive direction under the capable leadership of the Science Soc committee and the chairman, Wei Jun. Hmmm, there will be another Science Soc comm meeting next Tues outside MJC to discuss about the implementation of the Science Soc shirt.

Felt really slacky today, I need to step up a gear in my revision!!! :X

Back in action

I'm back again after close to two weeks of inactivity on my blog. I have been really busy with school work in the last two weeks and dint have the time to blog. Its holidays now but it doesnt feel like it. Everyone has been going back to school this week for make-up lessons and last round of lectures b4 MYE kicks off immediately in the new term.

I have a really bad feeling about the GP exam last Monday. For my GP essay, after writing for 45mins, i realized i was out of point. While others had 1 and a half hours to complete the essay, i had like 45mins to write. My final essay was really short and I think i probably going to fail it. The comprehension wasnt difficult and im hoping that it will pull up my overall GP score. Fingers crossed.

The movie 'Return of the Sith' was fantastic!!! I like the fighting bits in the show, i like the movement of the light-sabres and their sound effects :X I was sitting in the last row of the cinema and some of the dialogue werent that clear. On many occasions, I heard 'Anakin Skywalker' as 'Heineken Skywalker'. OK, maybe I influenced by Jerome's Heineken joke recently...LMAO...if u dont know the joke, its about the coffee me and Jerome always like to drink during breaks. We like to call the coffee Heineken. Yesterday Jerome was at his best, when I ask Jerome to buy 'Heineken' for me, he told me there is no 'Heineken' left cos 'Heineken' had turned into Darth Vader. Funny sia...ROFL...

I have already planned my study schedule for MYE but i dont think i can revise everything cos there is too much stuff to read and there is like so many freaking qns in the TYS. I guess i have to take one step at a time and see how it goes.

Meridian Superstars

Here I am writing a blog at 12.00am in the morning. Today being a Friday was a busy day. Chinese oral test was a bit pathetic, dint know what to say on the conversation topic initially but eventually i forced some stuff out of my mouth, hopefully to score a good grade. Yippee, I finally got the song 'I dont want to know', which was Hai Tun Wan Lian Ren theme song on my MP3. I have searching for that song for a long time and its really nice , a very touching song. ^-^

Today was Meridian Superstars Finals. I specially came down to LT4 at 6.30pm today to support my PAE 05S101 fren, Fu Kun. My efforts were rewarded fortunately and i dint come for nothing, cos Fu Kun got third position!!! Wooohooo...well done Fu Kun!There wasnt many MJC students watching Meridian Superstars Finals, but those who came to support their frens yelled their lungs off. My PAE fren dint had many supporters, in fact majority of his CG mates dint even come to support him. Thank god his performance was sweet and solid and the judges were most probably impressed. If more people had come to support my fren, he would maybe have got 1st or 2nd position cos voting constitutes 20% of the overall score of each finalist.

The standard of the singing finals was excellent. All the finalists saved their best performance for the last. The supporters in LT4 were enthu fanatics, screaming their heads off and cheering their frens when they were performing. I really felt a sense of belonging to the school during the Superstar Finals. I dint really like the eventual Meridian Superstar Champion, i tot her singing was mediocre and that she won bcos she chose the right song that doesnt need to bring out her vocals. Liang Jing Ru's songs are easy to sing if you can grasp the technique behind it. Being quite a Chinese pop lover, I dint really see why she got 1st, i tot there were a couple of others who were better than her.

Hmm, just got home at around 10.30pm cos i had dinner with my fren at White Sands. I really enjoyed myself today at Meridian Superstar Finals. There aint really many such singing competitions that u can go watch 'live' these days, especially not a quality competition like the Meridian Superstars. But the emcees for the Superstars could do much better, at times they were like struggling to string a proper sentence together and even used English words to substitute for Chinese words they were unsure of. I will be waiting for the next Meridian Superstar Finals to come!! Watch this space!!:P

Fate

I have thought things over today. There is no time to think about other things other than studies at the moment. Let fate decide how it should end. Come to think of it, its simply wishful thinking on my part. Looking back, the whole episode seems funny. I guess it is just a passing phase of my life that I have to overcome, and i have CONQUERED it.

Today was a fabulous day. Morning's Chem SPA was simply brilliant, I did nothing wrong. I never found SPA so exciting before, I felt very relaxed throughout the whole 1 hour 25mins despite it being a National Exam. Not every1 found it easy tho, a couple of my friends made some mistakes in the prac. Hmm now Chem SPA aside, there is still Phy SPA next week. I'm waiting for it...bring it ON!!! haha.

This morning i bumped into my Science Soc chairperson. She told me that i had got into the Science Soc committee!!! I was so delighted at the news, tho its only the position of Head of Physics , I feel pleased that I had convinced others to vote for me and that they had trusted me to bring Science Soc to greater heights in MJC! Tho i dont know how my other Science Soc friends fare for the elections, i really hope they get in the positions they want in the committee.

Just came back from Binomial Theorem remedial lecture, basically it was just a recap of the chapter and did some qns in the tutorial. I had forgotten a lot of stuff in the 1st 3 months tutorials and i really need to attend these remedial lectures to understand. Tmr's remedial lecture will be on Trigo or more specifically, the R formula. Oh yeah there is Meridian Superstar tmr at 7.00pm at LT4, i guess after the R-formula lecture ending at around 6.30pm i will go have a bite and go watch the Superstars in action!!! One of my good friends will be performing and i'm definitely going to support him.

Argghhh i'm still lagging behind others in tutorials, I wont sleep today sia, I'm going to finish all my tutorials by tonight! Wooooohoooooo!

Pathetic Life

For the first time in my blogging career, I dont know how to start writing. My life is currently in a WRECK. Nothing has gone right for me this month. The recent chem result was sucky, I screwed up Physics Lecture test and FMaths lecture test, I failed NAPFA. I simply cannot adapt to the life of a 4 A level student, I dont think i can even make it thru to year 2. My confidence is at a all time low in my life. What a way to enter my Chem SPA tmr. There is this girl i like in MJ and i dont have the guts to really start a conversation with her. I keep giving myself excuses that i shouldnt rush things cos any wrong move will result in dire consequences. A guy is supposed to take the initiative. I got the feeling she doesnt have a good impression of me.

Just came from CCA today, had CCA elections. There were 6 positions up for grabs for J1s, Chairperson, Vice- Chairperson. Phy rep, Chem rep, Bio rep and Astronomy rep. I contested for the position of Physics Rep in Science Soc. Why did i choose this position in the CCA com instead of other positions? There were already two people contesting for Chem rep and i decided to let it go. After all, I'm already a Chem rep in my CG and to try for the position of Chem rep again is simply ridiculous, i'm not a Chem fanatic or anything like that. Actually it should be a walkover for me since I'm the only person contesting for the Phy Rep position, but nomination to the Science Soc com is subjective to votes so i had to go out like the rest of the CCA com wannabes and give a short speech on why i should be offered this position.

Amazingly, I dint screw up my speech and answers to the questions posed by the J2s and teacher-in-charge. Ermm, i think this is the only event in MJ this MONTH that i dint screw up. I was rather pleased after my speech but from my experience from interviews in MJ like OGL interview, science attachment interview, u may think u have done a good job in answering the interviewers' questions but the interviewers may think otherwise.

I'm currently having difficulties in preparing my tutorials on time. One lesson to be learnt in MJC, NEVER do way ahead of tutor! Cos u may end up slacking for a long time and unable to catch up with the tutor when he/she suddenly accelerates. Have I made the wrong choice in choosing FMaths combination? If I had not selected FMaths combi, i would not have seen this girl and causing my life to be tormented. On the other hand, if I had not chosen FMaths combi, i would not get to know so many great friends mainly from PAE 05S101 and JAE 05S103 and experience such fantastic camaraderie. So many questions...no answers...

I'm confused

Today was my UNHAPPIEST day in MJ. Many sad things happened which i could never dream of happening. My CT today was very frustrated bcos a lot of ppl didnt bring the blue Chinese book which we were supposed to do a test in it. I was one of them who forgot to bring the blue book, i really regret that i was one of those ppl who made my CT angry. As a result we couldnt have the Chinese test today, it was postponed to tml. My CT just walked out of the class in frustration b4 the lesson ended. I could see she was crying..she couldnt hide it. The entire class felt guilty and we went outside the staffroom to apologise to her. Her eyes were red and the entire 05S103 felt a lot worse. After we apologised to our CT, she went back to the staffroom, we dont know whether she is still angry now.

Another thing happened was that my class treasurer accused me of not paying $20 to the class fund. The fact was i had already paid him $20 and he was harrassing me almost every day for the money. Today i lost my cool, pointed my middle finger at him and confronted him outside the classroom. I think i used some vulgarities on him too. It turned out he thinks he remembered wrongly who had not paid him and that the class fund had actually sprung up more money than expected, which was probably mine. A lot of people were around me at the moment, my class treasurer decided to resign from his position. I felt guilty now for playing a part in his decision to resign from class treasurer. Honestly i feel he is a very intelligent person who has an almost photographic memory, he can remember things very well, but i think he is not used to using a class list to keep track of ppl who had not paid the class fund. He is an approachable person who has a sense of humour, the ideal qualities of a class treasurer whose job is so dead boring. We really need someone like him.

Many people now have a very negative opinion of the 'girl of my dreams'. I dont know why but someone people tend to make assumptions about her which are totally unfair to a girl like her. I think she is a really nice person but maybe thats bcos i dont really know her. But my friends keep saying those stuff about her which make her really sound like a horrid person. I'm really confused...how should i judge her...who should i listen to? These coming two weeks are going to be really hectic and I guess i wont be updating my blog unless there is a absolute necessary. So many things to do...so little time...

Sports Day

Today was MJC's Sports Day. Felt very diffferent from sec school's Sports Day cos there wasnt a track in my sec school and we had to go to a nearby stadium to hold the Track and Field meet there. Today's Track and Field meet was delayed because of an unexpected downpour. As a result, I reached home quite late, around 7pm.

Before the race events started, my friends and I were playing bridge at a secluded place away from the hall. The cards belonged to one of my classmates who werent there. When we playing halfway, a MJ tutor saw us playing and confiscated the pack of cards. He definitely had an attitude problem...never gave us a chance...and took the cards away. C'mon, there were crowds of MJ students outside the hall playing bridge, daidee on the benches. Why werent their cards confiscated??? This is totally unfair, I guess we were really unlucky to run into such a unreasonable teacher.

I was quite enthu when the race events was on. I cheered along with my house, Triton. We got 3rd in the sports meet! Finally we shook off the 'loser house'label that we achieved after the humiliation at this year's Annual College Road Race in Feb. I was quite amazed at Triton's performance today. All the Triton athletes put in their best performance...most of them were new blood...i know some of these ppl were not in MJ for the 1st 3 months. Triton is really lucky to have these really great peeps posted to them!

I got to know more about the girl of my dreams yesterday. She was from AJC in the 1st 3 months...really smart sia to get into AJC. I havent had a actual conversation with her...i'm really ashamed of my cowardness -_-

Bad hair day

Had a rather bad day. Sat beside the girl of my dreams in phy lab for a about half an hour. Dint talk to her...or rather i was too coward to talk...deja vu feeling...she only asked to see my previous phy spa trial stuff....i said ok...and it was over within minutes. Haiz, today's phy spa trial was a total crap. I took 45 min to set up the experiment. When i started recording my first reading, the teacher asked us to stop doing. I'm in serious danger of failing Phy SPA, i need to work on my SPEED!!!

PW grouping was lame, there werent any girls in my group. I was hoping for that girl to be in my group, guess it wasnt fated to be. My PI first draft was lucky to get approved by my PW tutor. He told me it was well done. Tyco lah, pretty much last min work, did some research the previous night and applied my creativity to it. Dint really expect my first PI draft to be accepted.

Next week is going to be really hectic...chem lecture test and maths lecture test(i heard from rumours) coming up. Completed all my tutorials for the week. Can slack a bit. Haha i dont know why, but i enjoy doing tutorials when ppl are slacking. When ppl are doing tutorials, i'm slacking. I feel unique being like that. Ouch, i think i'm getting cranky. Right now,i feel comfortable with my studies, i'm managing my time pretty well.

Today has been a busy day...8 consecutive tutorials/lectures which translates to 6 hours without a break. But i'm beginning to get used to it..thanks to my 1st 3 months experience..which i think that time table was as bad as the present. Saw the results of the science attachment programme shortlist...didnt get in. I dint really expect to get rejected since i felt i did fairly well in the interview for the attachment programme. I feel sorry for letting a lot of people down, Doctor Rahman and Mrs Seng, who encouraged b4 the interview to do my best. Life is obviously unfair. I put so much effort and hope into this attachment programme thingy, i feel bitter and frustrated at the moment. I dont have any luck with interviews so far..i failed the OGL interview earlier this year..and now this interview for the attachment programme. I always feel stupid and idiotic when this kind of things happen...the more u wish for something...the more u wouldnt get it. But why aint other ppl so unlucky as me? All my frens i know in MJ who applied all got in the attachment programme...a number of them also managed to become OGLS earlier this year...why am i so useless and inept???

But right now i dont feel as lousy as i did when i failed the OGL interview...i'm beginning to get used to failures. When i was in sec school...i dint fail so much in the things i do...now i have a lot of catching up to do compared to others. MJ really broadened my horizon. I dont believe i'm born to fail interviews for programmes. I believe im as capable as any other person...it all lies in the experience and the attitude. My motto ~Keep trying and u will see why u failed earlier~

Hmm long weekend ahead...i'm planning to finish all Mdm Koh's tutorials by Tuesday. Practice makes perfect, doing tutorials is essential to make u understand the topics. Had an unpleasent experience in FM lecture today. I was accused by the lecturer of sleeping cos i wasnt sitting upright. The fact was that i was paying attention and not sleeping. To be honest, i noticed a number of ppl around me 'nodding their heads in agreement' with the teacher and some were using handphones, their actions was so obvious that the lecturer was blind not to see it.

I feel fit at the moment...i thought the circuit work in PE today was rather slack. The F and C in the 1st 3 months was so much tougher compared to today. Sometimes i think MJ's F and C is a legend...the ultimate of all physical training. I missed F and C a lot sia...hahax...I have been going back to MJ on Sat to train for the upcoming NAPFA. I am aiming for a gold award...at the intensive rate i have been training...i am especially confident of achieving gold. Only slightly one more week left to NAPFA which means two more training sessions on Sat.

My class is slowly bonding together....quite united during PE today. Some of the girls in my present class are so fit that its scary. I do eat together with my PAE classmates whenever i see them during breaks, get to know more about the happenings in their class.

Got back chem lecture test today. Not happy with my result, it was so close yet so far to an A i was aiming for. I was expecting an A from this test..but got a B that was 1.5 marks away from an A. I made many stupid careless mistakes...included units where they were not supposed to be...forgot to scale up the mole ratio etc. But it was a major improvement from my previous chem grade in the 1st 3 months...a D. What made me disappointed was that many of the top scorers from this chem test was from my PAE class. I failed to perform at the level i know i am capable of. Hmmm..guess i have to work harder in the next chem lecture test. Honestly, i didnt even study for this chem test. I didnt even know what chapters were going to be tested. Dont know why but i always do better when i dont study...maybe the pressure of performing is lesser.

My C.G. received the emergency relay system today. My CT dint know how a relay system worked. It wasnt a system where individuals notify a group of people but a one-to-one basis. How lame can that be? This system entirely defeats the purpose of a relay system. If it was meant to be a one-to-one relay system...why not follow the class index and let the first person call the second person and so on?

I really miss my PAE class a lot...the way we simply gelled together in such a short time was amazing. The class spirit was fantastic and special...it will forever be a part of my unforgettable memories...Sometimes when i feel upset and frustrated, i will think of these happy moments in the 1st 3 months...

Class Elections

Today was Class Committee Elections day. Pretty boring actually...cos the entire CG was more or less sure who would be the various reps , CG rep etc. Unexpectedly, my CT asked me to be Chem Rep. What can i say? Dint really expected to command such a 'high' position after two years of being NE cum CIP rep in my sec school..bleh. I anyhow filled in the elections form for CG Rep, Asisst. CG Rep and Treasurer. I put my friend's name on all 3 positions sia...he later told me if he kenna 2 positions he will kill me. Luckily, he was voted to be treasurer only...hahax. There was a tie btw two ppl for Assist. CG Rep and had to vote again. One was my good friend i had known for 4 years and the other was a girl i found cute. I succumbed to my emotions and voted for the girl. I felt guilty immediately after i submitted my vote..what the hell was i thinking of? Later i overheard one of my classmates saying my good friend had really wanted the position of Assist. CG Rep. I felt really screwed up. Fortunately, my good friend got the position he wanted, he won by a marginal amount of votes.

I really need some anger management. I have been feeling very frustrated this few weeks...insulted a lot of ppl in my class...broke a beaker during chem prac...just to name a few. I guess i'm still not used being in the last few classes. I was always in the top class of my school from pri school to sec school and also in the 1st 3 months. I need some more time to adjust to my new CG and environment. :(

Finally my blog is up and running after a couple hours of work. I started from scratch and it took me less than 3 hours to put up a decent blog that i like. Initially, i think blogging is a sissy thing but i have realized over time that there is no harm in trying new things and here i am blogging. Hmm...i have decided to blog only when i have some interesting things to say or some exciting stuff happening in MJ. Today.. i learnt how to play HEARTS. Yes, the card game. Shouldnt have been tempted to play with poker cards cos i realize i always get kinda worked up in card games. I hate losing...especially in games. My first game in HEARTS wasnt too bad..i achieved 'Shooting the moon' in case u dont know...its so difficult to get this that it only happens once in ur lifetime. Its one of the ways in winning in HEARTS...the shortest but toughest way. I think i not going to play any more card games cos i always behave like a sore loser...also after 'shooting the moon' .. i lost 3 straight rounds and ended up the biggest loser. Haiz..i got suan like hell..the ppl whom i played with all said i so tyco to 'shoot the moon'. I like my present class 05S103...tho the atmosphere in S103 is nothing compared to the fantastic unity and camaderie in PAE 101, i think 103 ppl are very friendly and approachble. They are basically a bunch of great individuals. Thats all for now...got to do research some stuff for the upcoming science soc quiz in MJ nia...
